It rains almost everyday in Lagos, Nigeria these days, you know what they say about weather and feelings yea? That’s right, how are my people in Lagos doing? Don’t let this weather tempt you or make you feel inadequate, just drink hot tea and mind your business.
So yesterday, I received a heart-aching email, a big deal for me, not something enormous but it shattered me for a few hours. I sort of was expecting a not so good response from this particular organization but I had hope, lots of it.
This was heartbreaking because I involved a friend in the ‘process’ and we are in God’s hands now. After sulking for hours, oh I cried like a baby! I decided to tap into my inner flow state, aka self motivate myself, meditate for a while, ask myself the what’s next question and just stared into space, as I stared, I remembered the K-drama I have been watching, titled - ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’
The subject of today’s letter is not about the K-drama, it’s about you. Regardless of what you are going through right now, it’s okay to not feel okay. Don’t dwell on failure, rejection emails, debit alerts for too long, think about what’s next, and get up. Go back to the basics in your mind and press re-set, the bulk of the issue I am currently facing is because I procrastinated for a long time. One of my weaknesses is procrastination, and every day I work on it which is why I have the spunk to write you this email.
Work on your weakness and carry on! Please ponder on this quote
"Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."
-- Winston S. Churchill
